Seal Alert-SA’s paypal account if you would like to assist with funds to purchase fish to rescue seals stranding on South African coastline daily. Seal Alert-SA pays R10 830-00 (USD $ 1388 or 1083 Euros) per ton, and orders 3 tons monthly. Each ton is 200, 5kg boxes of frozen pilchards/bait. Seal Alert currently uses 23 boxes per day.

Seal Alert has just counted the number of seals it has rescued and are at its facilities today, 64 seals under rehab. If each seal needs 4kg of fish per day, given in a morning and evening feed, and are with Seal Alert for at least the next month. Francois Hugo will have to purchased 8 tons of pilchards at a total cost in SA rands of R86 600. A frightening thought for a single human to fund himself each month to save seals. In reality, Seal Alert could survive on half, about 4 tons for the next month, at a total cost of R43 000 or $5400 US dollars or 4300 euros.
